FMGE 2024: Key dates and exam overview
With the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) swiftly approaching on July 6th, 2024, aspiring medical professionals need to prepare diligently. FMGE is a screening test for Indian citizens who hold a medical degree from abroad and plan to practise in India. Medical graduates aspiring to get provisional or permanent registration with the Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council can appear for the FMGE exam. The examination is conducted biannually by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) in India.
Countries exempted from FMGE
Certain countries are exempted from the FMGE requirement due to mutual recognition agreements with India. These countries include the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Graduates from these nations are not required to take the FMGE to practise medicine in India.
