If you have already submitted your application, take note of these important dates.

Now, it’s time to focus on your preparation. For those determined to clear the exam this January, here are some essential tips for final month preparation.

FMGE: A quick overview

The FMGE is conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) as a mandatory screening test for foreign medical graduates to gain licensure in India.

  • Conducting body: National Board of Examinations (NBE)
  • Exam frequency: Twice a year
  • Number of papers: 2 Parts (Part 1 & Part 2)
  • Exam pattern: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) format
  • Total Marks: 300

Tips for the Final Month Preparation

1.  Revise high-yield topics: Focus on important subjects like anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology and medicine. Prioritise high-weightage topics to maximise your score.

2.  Practice MCQs daily: Solve as many MCQs as possible to improve speed and accuracy. Review detailed explanations to enhance conceptual understanding.

3.  Take mock tests: Attempt comprehensive mock exams to mimic real exam conditions. Use the results to assess your progress and identify weak areas.

4.  Follow a study schedule: Plan your daily schedule with clear targets for revision, practice and breaks. A structured approach ensures complete syllabus coverage.

5.  Solve previous years’ questions: Familiarise yourself with question patterns and frequently tested concepts by solving past papers.

6.  Stay healthy: Don’t ignore your health. Get enough sleep, eat nutritious food and take short breaks during study sessions to stay refreshed.
